New Roof!

2013-10-11 New Roof (1)

Yesterday was a very noisy day in the house! Finally, after what seemed to be like months of wait, they came in the morning and, after tearing apart the old roof, installed a new one. It really was like 26 days from the storm to the new roof installed, so not bad at all!

Now we are confident that there should be no more inside rain, so we can plan the finishing of the enclosure, and get it done before winter arrives. Still, with all these delays, there are a couple of improvements that we are not going to do this year because of time and money, but next year will be back, armed with a hammer and a screwdriver, ready to attack another project!  LOL

As you can imagine, because of all this stuff, I really haven’t had much time to write here and visit my friends, but I hope at least by winter, when all the improvements stop for the season, I’ll have the chance to do some more here.

Hugs to everyone!

    Raul,

It’s so nice to see the repairs finally happening. Wow, it’s not easy waiting for a roof, is it? But it all looks very nice and sturdy.

I will look forward to your posting more frequently. I have missed you.

    Hugs back at you:~)

    Hi Sara,

Yes, the roof adventure is over and we ended up as winners. There’s still lots to do to finish the interior so I’ll be busy for a couple more months. I hope by Thanksgiving is all finish, and I can get some spare time to go back to blogging in a regular basis.

Hip hip hurray for the new roof…we had to do that 2 years ago – now we just must be vigilant on the heavy rain ( and wind) days to keep the sump pumps going and the gutters unclogged – so our bedroom level of the house stays dry. It has been so wet this autumn that I am very concerned about going to SF for Thanksgiving with my daughter – We got 3″ of rain in 4 hours the other day and our street was a river with boiling storm drains.

    Hi Patricia,

Three inches of rain in four hours! No doubt the weather has become very strange lately. Here in Colorado we jumped from winter to summer skipping spring, and it seems that now we’ll skip fall since we went from 90’s to 30’s from one week to the next.
