The Lost Observer

2013-02-26 The Lost Observer

Normally the memories would be there, waiting for the host body to retrieve them as years go by in his/her growing process, but for some reason unknown to the Observer, not all the memories were “downloaded” to the host body, so it wasn’t the original human who died at birth, and wasn’t also the sent Observer’s mind.

After many years of confusion throughout his growing process, the Observer realized his out worldly nature, and began collecting and organizing the random memories left from his original life, scrutinizing every corner of his human brain for any indication and bit of memory that could help him reorganize his life and purpose in this planet.

As years went by, more and more memories kept coming back, allowing him to complete at least part of the puzzle. By the moment he entered his forties, he knew he wasn’t human -or at least in his mind- and just the body was part of the Earth race. A body of a baby that was dying at birth, that was used by his people to transfer his “entity” from his body in space to the newborn on Earth.

The human baby that suppose to die, would live instead with the life energy provided by the entity of the extraterrestrial being, who would leave his body behind, to re-take it once his life on Earth expired: An assignment that would last a human lifetime on Earth…

The purpose: Live among humans to learn and understand their minds and behaviors, together with the continual observation of technological progress achieved, and the benefits and consequences these advancements bring to the human race. Also the possible consequences that might occur if contact were to happen between the human race from Earth and the many races in space.

Living as another human being proved to be difficult when the mind is extraterrestrial. Instinctive behavior is different, and spontaneous response to the same stimulus varies widely depending in the origin of the entity or mind/energy. “Soul”…as humans considers it.

At one hand, some of the original instincts from the human baby remained, pushing the extraterrestrial entity in one direction, while at the other hand, the original instincts and training from the Observer pushed in another. A continual internal battle to take decisions and to know what should be right or wrong.

Was it a normal condition?  Do all Observers have to deal with themselves?  Or was it a consequence of a partial “download” that created a half and half creature that served no purpose?  The body of the baby supposed to be just dead and without the human entity in it before the transfer could be initiated, so the Observer’s entity could take complete control of the human body -the host-. But many elements can get in the way to create a failure in the process: The host body is not completely dead, creating a hybrid creature; the transfer process could be interrupted by extreme atmospheric conditions that might occur at the moment of the transfer, creating a distortion in the transmission, loosing part of the memories and mind of the Observer being transferred.

Too many unanswered questions that created confusion in the Observer about his definite origin and purpose, and his erratic mind behavior that seemed to be unfit when compared with human and extraterrestrial behavior alike.

Will the original body be there when the time to expire this human life arrives? No one could tell him since he had never met another Observer on Earth in his human life; and for human concepts, his thoughts were the characteristic drifting thoughts of a crazy man. He would be locked and forgotten in some mental institution if he dared to ask out loud. Besides, humans didn’t know about Observers among them, and for what he had learned so far, it’ll be better to keep it a secret before humans entered a panic mode.

Should an Observer keep contact with his/her race throughout his/her human life on Earth to sent continuous reports?  Or only after going back, a complete report is delivered? No answers again…

So the only option for now would be to just keep on living and learning from observations, while collecting his reports about the findings related to human behavior for the moment they will be requested. As years go by, maybe some answers will show up and will help to clarify the many details and questions unanswered so far, and a better picture will be seen in the confused life of a lost Observer living among humans on Earth.

    Raul,

This was a very creative writing. The idea of the moment at which the observer becomes born and how there are so many unanswered questions about the “mix” of the two.

The observer contemplating his role and what will be done with the knowledge he collects.

I would think it must be hard on an observer to be so alone. Is it just him or are all of them alone. You left me with lots of questions…

Are you going to continue with this story? I hope so.

Very nice story telling and I am like Sara left with many questions and wondering if this story will continue – will we know the instincts of the Observer? or learn what is in the reports?

Will the Observer assist the humans by finding a way to participate and not just observe?

    thank you

    Hi Patricia,

Actually, the original idea was to just introduce the Observer to then proceed mainly with the reports, and only from time to time do some “updates” in the Observer’s situation.
