Cherry On Top Award

It came as a nice surprise when checking the email I found that Patricia of Patricia’sWisdom chose my blog as one of her six to honor with the “Cherry on Top Award”

Thank you Patricia for the distinction and your encouraging words!

Now, there are rules to follow when becoming the recipient of this award and they are:

The Rules

01-Answer this question: If you had the chance to go back and change one thing in your life, would you and what would it be?

02-Thank the person who gave you this award.

03-Pick 6 people/blogs and give them this award.

04-You have to inform the person that they have received this award

01- The question…and the answer!

There are many things I would have done differently…when looking from the safety of the future; but if I had the chance to go back and change one…I wouldn’t.

Changing one thing would change many others by their interrelationship and that would be a problem of indirectly changing something I wouldn’t like to change, so I’ll prefer to bury the time machine and concentrate in how to make things better from now on.

Besides, everything has a positive and a negative side, so how much of the problem is the side we are looking at, rather than the reality of the situation? When changing the perspective, what seems to be a mistake could become an unknown advantage!

02- Thank you again Patricia for the distinction; it definitely means a lot that Alien Ghost became one of your selections. I’m glad my writing makes you think and see things from a different perspective; after all, that’s the goal of this blog and your mention becomes more fuel to keep going.

03-Although there are more than six blogs I really enjoy visiting to read (even if I’m not commenting lately due to a stubborn To Do list that doesn’t seem to disappear) the rules are the rules and I have to choose, so here they are:

-Sara of A Sharing Connection

Because her challenges keep forcing my brain like a physical trainer

(oooh my brain hurts!)

-Barbara of Blogging Without a Blog

Because of all the great advice she gives that makes her a “Blogging Leader”

(Go Commander Barbara!)

-Nacho of Zerebria

Because of his interesting posts that makes you think further from just what’s in front

(But what if…?)

-Tony and Cassy of Trotersville

Because of their artistic ways that I must admit not always can follow

(I’m not dumb, just “un-artistic”)

-Eric of Eden Journal

Because of his continuous search in his posts

(Let’s keep analyzing!)

-Marion of The Second Half Of My Life

Because of her honest writing with great advice

(The second part of our lives can be the best of all!)

So…ladies and gentlemen, who are your selected blogs that have that little something extra?

    Hi Raul,
    I like your answer..I’m glad you wouldn’t change anything..I wouldn’t either..
And I love your list of blogs..I agree that each challenge me to reach either higher or differently or more creatively than I normally would..and *that* is awesome…The little something extra blogs on my list are numerous–the few that lately have inspired me to remain on my boat and embrace my truth are:,, and–they all inspire me to remain true to my unique path and to embrace my gifts and use them to better my world…

    Hi Joy,

Yes, changing one thing could become a completely different life (the Butterfly Effect), so better use the past as lessons and keep walking to the future with more tools in hand for the life building process.

First of all, congratulations on getting the award. It’s quite an honor.

Also, thank you sharing this honor with me. I also agreed with your response to your award because I think it fits who you are. You seem to look forward and not backwards, which is a good thing:~)

I am pleased that I challenge your mind to point that it hurts…secretly, I am a bit of a sadist in that way. Actually, you make ME think, which is why you get those extra long comments from me!!!!

When I read what you write, I also have to think. Now my brain hurts…see it’s contagious:~)

    Hi Sara,

Your blog and posts are very challenging since it is not just reading but also getting “home work”.

Nowadays people is very interested in physical improvement which is a great thing), but many forget the brain development part, and your blog is one of the “gyms” to go for some exercising.

Thank you for your outstanding work :)

  3. Congratulations Raul, you certainly deserve this award. Thanks for selecting me as one of your six. I think we have similar perspectives on a lot of things, and one of the things I like about you is that you like to think for yourself rather than following the herd. We need more thinkers in this world, and you are definitely encouraging more people to think.

    Hi Eric,

Watching a TV program about how they designed the water system in the Rome Empire showed me that maybe the thinking process without automation to simplify such process could be a forgotten game nowadays and with that we are missing the steering controls of life and society.

Your responses to this award just make me so happy to have passed it on to you – You are very welcome.

I am going to go and check out all the folks that you passed the award on to and figure out how they are blogging with that something extra.

I had a hard time answering the question and I like your response better than mine, but even in hindsight I would have stopped putting so much effort into my search knowing what I know now – yes it would have change things – for the good or worst? I do not know

Nice joy here…and I think this award will bring you a smile and already some JOY -(re: top comment)

    Hi Patricia,

Please check out the blogs I passed on the award; they are very interesting blogs from very interesting people, although I’m sure you already have visited some of them before.

Talking about the possibility of changing the past, it is always a tricky situation, where we have to decide how hard a situation was looking at it from the present.

Thanks again Patricia for the distinction, as I mentioned before, this is more fuel to keep going with renewed energies :)

  5. Nacho Jordi says:

Hi Raul, I feel really thankful for being included in your list! And mostly coming from a blog as nice and delicate as yours. I once read that all kind of great things happen to those who blog (I read it in a blog :) ), and I guess it must true. But above all, like I told you when you sent me the icon, having such an attentive reader is a great reward to me. Blogging feels sometimes lonely, a guy surrounded by four walls, the smoke coming out of his ears while searching for the right expression… :D Sometimes you wonder if there’s really someone out there. It is great to know now and then that there is :).
Congratulations to all the other awarded, too, and thank you for your personal and caring job, each of you with your very different style.

    Hi Nacho,

You’re welcome! I do read your blog because of the thinking process involved and the perspective presented, that helps to get a wider vision on many topics that you write.

Isn’t it amazing that, as you mention, writing in the computer surrounded by four walls, we can get to connect with many people in so different places and circumstances, even if at that moment it seems to be a lonely activity?

    Congratulations to everyone.

  7. Congratulations on your award Raul.

    It’s a reward you’re very deserving of.

Commander Barbara? You’re funny. But thank you for your kind words.

I’d have to say “ditto” to your answer. We are who we are today because of what happened to us in the past.

    Hi Barbara,

I sent you a message through your contact form, but I’m afraid I didn’t past the security guard in it. I’ll give it a try again, or by a comment in your last post, which by the way, scared the hell out of me! Thank you for such important information to all of us bloggers :)
